Light of Life Is Forever

In loving memory of Dr Jane Goodall DBE (1934 - 2025)

Thank you to everyone who made it possible for this portrait to take its place at the Science Museum. Jane spent her life bringing people closer to the natural world and giving them reason to hope. Your support helps carry that message forward, and your names will remain part of its story. With heartfelt thanks to all our contributors.

About the portrait

Jane Goodall's Light of Life Is Forever was painted by Mr Brainwash, the street artist known for his colourful style and hopeful messages. It shows Jane in the Gombe rainforest, facing a chimpanzee in a quiet moment of connection. Words and phrases, some of them Jane's own, spill across the image and onto its ornate frame, reflecting her lifelong work championing conservation and encouraging people to care for the natural world.

The portrait is a gift from the Jane Goodall Institute UK, made possible with support from Nick and Elena Martin and the Consano Earth Fund, and now sits in the collection of the Science Museum.
