Remembering Dr. Jane

Scientist. Conservationist. Humanitarian.

Jane Showed Us the Way. Now It's Our Turn.

Dr. Jane Goodall didn't just study chimpanzees, she redefined what it means to be human. She proved that compassion, curiosity, and courage can change the world. And she believed, with every fiber of her being, that you have the power to make a difference.

Her voice may be silent, but her message rings louder than ever:

Every individual matters. Every individual has a role to play. Every individual makes a difference.

"Don't Lose Hope" - Dr Jane's Final Words

In March 2025, Jane sat down for one final interview, a conversation she knew would only be shared after her passing. In Netflix's Famous Last Words: Dr. Jane Goodall, she reflected on her extraordinary life, the state of our planet, and the one message she wanted to leave behind:

"Don't lose hope. If you lose hope, you become apathetic and do nothing. But if you have hope, you roll up your sleeves and get to work."

This wasn't a goodbye. It was a call to arms.

The Legacy Lives on.

Jane spent 65 years showing us that one person, armed with curiosity, compassion, and determination, can spark a global movement.

She walked into the forests of Gombe with a notebook and binoculars, and emerged with discoveries that changed science forever. She founded the Jane Goodall Institute to protect chimpanzees and their habitats. She created Roots & Shoots, empowering 700,000+ young people across 100+ countries to become changemakers.

But Jane's greatest achievement wasn't what she did alone. It was what she inspired millions of us to do together.

Today, her mission lives on, not as a memory, but as a movement. The Jane Goodall Institute continues her holistic approach to conservation, recognising that protecting wildlife means supporting the people who share their habitats. Roots & Shoots members around the world are planting forests, cleaning oceans, protecting endangered species, and spreading hope through action.

Jane believed in you. Now it's time to believe in yourself.
